HiSky is ramping up its aircraft operations is it prepares to launch this summer. According to a press release seen by Simple Flying, the Moldovan startup confirmed that it now has a second contract with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for Airbus A320 family aircraft, with delivery scheduled for this September.
Ready for action
Altogether, the partnership between the two firms sees both A319 and A320 being leased. HiSky is expected to connect its passengers to six European destinations. These cities include Bologna, Düsseldorf, Lisbon, Paris, London, and Dublin.
David Beker, vice president and head of aircraft sales and trading of Air Lease Corporation, shared the following regarding the relationship with HiSky:
“ALC is pleased to announce this second lease placement with HiSky Moldova. We have been impressed with the business plan underpinning this new clean-sheet airline in Moldova and are honored to provide the first A319 and A320 aircraft to HiSky Moldova so that they can launch their airline later this summer. We look forward to growing and expanding our relationship over the coming years.”
Behind the company
HiSky’s team sees former Air Moldova pilot Iulian Scorpan at the helm. The businessman said that he is delighted with the support from ALC to launch his airline. He shared that plans are taking shape for the perfect start. He added that the operator is looking forward to putting both planes to work to deliver an excellent onboard experience while providing the highest quality of service to its passengers.
The company is also working alongside Romanian charter airline Cobrex Trans. The Moldovan outfit previously stated that it would operate its flights with modern aircraft A320 from the Brasov-based carrier’s fleet. This is not the first time that the management of the two companies has worked together. Therefore the pair have a mutual understanding with each other.
According to a previous statement seen by Simple Flying, Mihaela Apavaloaie, the commercial director of Cobrex Trans, says that the primary interest of the companies is to offer a high level of service while having prices similar to that provided by low-cost companies. Ultimately, they want their customers to feel safe and comfortable when traveling.
Can finally get going
Now, with more units to choose from, HiSky is in a prime position to start its operations in the best way that it can. The Chișinău-based carrier was initially planning to commence operations in April. However, the global health crisis rocked the aviation industry. Subsequently, in May, the airline announced a commencement date of July 1st for all of its new flights.
